Terms version
These Terms of Use are version 2026-08-27. Continuing as a guest means you agree to these Terms, but Cookta does not create an account-linked acceptance record. If you sign in, Cookta records this version with your account when you accept it. If a material change creates a new version, Cookta will ask signed-in users to accept the updated terms before account processing continues.
Age eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Cookta, whether as a guest or with an account. By passing the age confirmation and continuing as a guest, or by accepting these terms after sign-in, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Cookta includes images of raw meat and safety-critical guidance for knives, heat, raw animal proteins, doneness checks, and food handling. The age requirement does not replace careful judgment, appropriate supervision, package instructions, or professional advice.
Using Cookta
Cookta gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for lawful, non-commercial cooking purposes. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, interfere with, or misuse Cookta or attempt to access another person’s account.
Your account
An account is optional for browsing recipes and active cooking. Guest progress for an active cook stays on that device, and guest completions are not recorded in history. Bookmarks, cooking history, diet, allergy and skill preferences, and synchronization require signing in through Google or Apple. If you create an account, you are responsible for protecting access to that provider account and your device. Information you provide must be accurate. You can sign out or permanently delete your account from Settings.
Cooking, allergy, and food-safety notice
Cookta is a cooking guide, not medical, nutritional, allergy, or food-safety advice. Recipe filters and allergen labels may be incomplete, ingredients and packaged products can change, and cross-contact can occur. Always inspect labels and ingredients yourself and use guidance from qualified professionals when an allergy or medical condition is involved.
Use safe food-handling practices and independently confirm doneness. For raw animal proteins, Cookta may present a minimum cooking stage followed by a visual or texture check that you must complete before continuing. Cookta cannot observe or measure your food, and you should continue cooking whenever you are unsure.
Timer notifications are convenience alerts, not independent safety alarms, and can be delayed or silenced by device settings, battery state, or operating-system behavior. An elapsed timer does not by itself mean that food is ready to eat.
Content and intellectual property
Cookta, its visual design, software, recipes, text, illustrations, and branding are protected by intellectual-property laws. Feedback you choose to send may be used to improve Cookta without compensation, while you keep ownership of any rights you already hold in that feedback.
Availability and changes
We may improve, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim for reliable guidance and timers but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. You are responsible for maintaining a compatible device and internet access where synchronization or sign-in requires it.
Disclaimer and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cookta is provided “as is” and without implied warranties. Cookta is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that applicable consumer law does not allow us to exclude.
Ending use
You may stop using Cookta at any time. Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling removes guest device state; signed-in users can also delete their account. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect Cookta, its users, or comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
Applicable law and contact
Cookta is operated by Adam Vajda in Hungary. These terms are governed by Hungarian law, without taking away mandatory consumer protections available where you live. Questions can be sent through Cookta support. Our privacy policy explains how personal data is handled.
